Is Your SEO White Hat?

February 2, 2012

Sometimes it’s important to get back to the basics with your online marketing. So today we wanted to talk about the difference between White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO.

You probably know how important it is to get found on Google. So the first question you need to ask yourself is, “Is your SEO White Hat?”

When you are looking to increase your website’s ranking in search engines, you can use a more well-rounded approach or an approach that can possibly stifle you. While White Hat SEO is seen as the more ethical approach, Black Hat SEO can be seen as the unethical form of increasing your rankings through its use of sneaky techniques.

White Hat SEO involves using means of SEO methods, procedures, and tactics that target people instead of focusing on search engines. White Hat SEO is honorable to exercise due to the fact that it follows the rules and policies of search engines, making it “ethical.” When using an Internet marketing company to improve your company’s SEO, White Hat SEO and its benefits are what should be used by your company. Not only will it increase website ranking in search engines, it will also guarantee that your website as a whole will be more well-rounded and informative. White Hat SEO exercises methods such as using keywords, keyword analysis, and proper links, among others, resulting in an increase of search engine ranking for your website, which is the ultimate goal.

Black Hat SEO differs from White Hat SEO by focusing more on search engines. Black Hat SEO practices use various tactics that may increase ranking for the time being until they are ultimately caught by search engines like Google, who would most likely block the websites because they use unethical SEO techniques. Practicing corrupt methods such as keyword stuffing, hidden text, cloaking, or using backdoors may get a temporary quick increase in ranking until they are banned for using shady techniques. Not only will your website potentially be banned, but when people visit your website, there won’t be valuable information they can take away from it like when using White House SEO.

In the long run, White Hat SEO is the way to go when looking to increase your website’s ranking in search engines. Using Black Hat SEO can be avoided with the proper research before selecting a company to increase your website’s ranking. Ultimately, in order to benefit from SEO at all, the proper techniques should be used in order to achieve maximum potential and leave you with a solid website.
