Welcome to Growth Tactic #13 in our 100-Day Digital Growth Plan! You can continue to gain trust and secure customer loyalty by supplying them with free, useful information. One way to do this is by creating a Best Posts Compilation. It’s quick and easy content for your site (or newsletter) and it doubles as a complimentary gift for your readers.
Overview – Best Posts Compilation
It’s important to publish new content on a regular basis–to offer your readers something fresh to devour. But what about all the great content that’s already out there? Recycle, restore, and reuse! With just a little time and research, you can assemble a list of already-published, expertly written, high-performing posts. Then, you can turn this compilation into an original post on your own blog, an infographic for your website, or you can share your list of links via your newsletter.
It’s a fast way to offer your readers something new, while paying homage to some of the best content (about your chosen topic or industry) of the previous week, month, or year. Make sure to link to strong, trusted, high Domain Authority sites!
Take a quick look at our Growth Tools page for a little inspiration. We collected 100 helpful links and put them on display on one of our site’s main pages, which readers can reference for free any time. And we can help you create something similar!
STEP ONE: Use BuzzSumo to research a list of posts that have performed well (received a significant number of shares) since their original live date. You can filter by day, week, month, 6 months or even the past year. When creating your list, you can opt to pull posts about a particular subject or focus on general industry-best posts. Then, choose how you’d like to present the information to your readers (ex: blog post, newsletter, infographic, video with links in the description, etc.).
STEP TWO: Put it all together. If you’re creating a blog post or newsletter, come up with an intro and outro to accompany your list. Consider adding short summaries next to each link to entice your readers to click. If you elect to create an infographic, make sure that your theme and images are captivating. If you decide to create a video, you could make it brief, merely with an introduction that references the links in the description. Or, you could create a longer video and verbally share your summaries of the articles in the video, disclose how many shares they’ve received thus far, and why they’re must-reads.
STEP THREE: It’s time to get your new content out there! To maximize exposure, include your compilation in Welcome Emails, put a link in your email signature, make the post shareable with social media buttons, promote it on your social platforms and consider making mention of it on your homepage.
