On Thursday, Pinterest announced a feature that many users had been requesting for quite some time: customizable board covers.
Now users are able to modify the covers of their boards to adapt their needs. It’s pretty simple to do so. If you hover over the cover photo for each board, an ‘Edit Board Cover’ button will show up. If you click on it, you’ll be able to sort through all of your past pins to select the image that best suits your needs.
Until this update, users had no say in what the board covers were. They were simply the last pin to that board, but now with the update, users can select an image that is appropriate for each particular board.
This can be beneficial if you’re a business on Pinterest. Now you can select pins for each board that represent the message or lifestyle you are trying to convey with each board. If you select an image that will grab the attention of users, it will make them more likely to check out a particular board and know what each one represents through the board photo alone.
Will you be taking advantage of the new Pinterest feature by customizing your board covers? What is going to be a determinant in selecting the right images for each board? Let us know.
