Recently, Facebook announced the launch of Interest lists. Much like the lists on Twitter and Circles on Google+, these lists will help users organize the content of Pages and of businesses or celebrities they are interested in. Facebook will display the top posts of each interest list in the News Feeds of users.
Although only the top stories from the Interest Lists will appear in News Feeds, users still have the option to read the other stories that have been hidden behind the bookmark.
Users are able to “Add Interests” or also have the option to create their own list in the “Create List” section on the “Interests” page. This allows Facebook users to personalize their newsfeed with the topics or public figures that matter the most to them. The idea behind Interest Lists is to create more B2C relationships.
Lists are great for businesses, because if you have interesting and relevant posts on your Facebook Page, then you will appear in the user’s News Feed. This should drive you as a business owner to really post fresh content on Facebook so that you can be part of the top stores that are posted in the user’s News Feed. If your posts aren’t engaging or beneficial, you should start making changes so that you appear in the newsfeed of users who add you to their Interest Lists.
