HOW-TO

STEP ONE: Make a list of potential tools you think might be a fit for your brand and your fans. Keep in mind that your resource should be helpful and have value for your target audience. But–it should also be quick and easy for you to create and help you achieve your ultimate goal: adding more prospects to your list.

STEP TWO: Choose one tool from your “maybe pile” and begin developing it. Start simple with a reference chart, template or outline, marketing calendar, cheat sheet, guidelines, top 10 list, etc.

STEP THREE: What are you going to do with your tool? Some ideas to consider: include it in a blog post, make it the focal point of a new landing page, place it directly on your homepage, or talk about it on social media. No matter where you promote your new tool, make sure that in order to secure a copy, individuals must use an opt-in form. The opt-in should require (at the very least) first names and email addresses. Use SharpSpring to set up a marketing automation drip sequence that starts with a ”thank you for downloading” email, followed by a special offer, and a follow-up.
