We like SEOprofiler’s Top 10 Optimizer, and SEMrush’s Detailed Analysis Report, which compare the top 10 Google performers for a particular landing page based on your criteria. Find out what’s holding you back and how you can secure your rightful place in the SERPs. Prepare yourself, and your site, for New York City-style traffic.

How-to

STEP ONE: Determine three or four competitors whose sites are outperforming yours. Using SEOprofiler, SEMrush or another similar program, run the top page optimizer tool on your site.    

STEP TWO: Review the results and implement one recommended change at a time. This will allow you to test how much better your site performs based on that single modification.

STEP THREE: Rerun the optimizer on your site so that you can see your new score and improvements. Check to see if your site has pushed past any of the competitors you listed in Step One. Continue to implement new recommendations one by one and repeat the process.
