Google is merging social media and search results. The major search engine Google is now showing recommendations on search results from friends on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These recommendations are based on what social media accounts you have linked to Google.
So how do you use this feature on Google to benefit your company and as part of your Internet marketing strategy? The answer is simple. First, you need to optimize your content so that it is engaging and appealing. You need to make sure you are blogging or have website content that people want to read and that people think is informative and educational. Second, you need to make sure your company’s blog and website are integrated into social media sites so that your content can be easily shared among different web visitors. These people need to be able to easily like your Facebook post, retweet your company’s content, or share your content with their family and friends online.
If you have a large consumer base already, this will benefit your company. If you don’t already have a large consumer base, then you will need to better incorporate social media marketing into your company’s Internet marketing plan. If your company has a presence on the different social media sites, then these recommendations will be advantageous because customers who like your page or engage with your social media page in some way can indirectly recommend your site to their other friends. This would increase the awareness of your company in the online community as well as help to further promote trust in your company’s products and services.
