Facebook has recently started testing a new design to users’ Timeline that compresses user information into the cover photo.
The new design isn’t that much different, but it definitely stands out compared to the current layout. Now the user’s name, education, location, occupation and other information will be laid on top of the cover photo. Instead of the text being black, it will now be white so that it doesn’t blend in with any dark colors that cover photos may have. There’s no word on if users will be able to customize the text color.
Another feature that is going to condense the look of profiles is the thumbnail images that feature friends, photos, places, likes, etc. There will now be a “Summary,” which features key moments from a user’s Timeline. “Likes” are now going to be known as “Favorites,” and the thumbnail images are going to be condensed right below the cover photo.
It’s unknown whether or not Facebook will roll these changes out for brand Pages. What do you think of the new design Facebook is testing?
