When designing or further developing your company’s website, you might be wondering what exactly it is that web users want to see. A study done by HubSpot found that 76% of consumers wanted a website that is designed for accessibility so that consumers can easily peruse the company’s website to find what they want.

If you already have a website made or if you are just designing your company’s website, you should keep this in mind. Consumers want a user friendly website with a basic layout and good organization. The more usable your website is to the consumer, the better your website will be.

Consumers want an appealing website to look at, but you need to make sure that you are not hurting your search engine optimization rankings with too much work on the visual design. What we mean by that is that you must balance consumer usability with good visual design. If you decide to use flash for example, you will create an appealing website, but flash actually hurts your SEO rankings and takes longer to load. Not only that, but it also not compatible with most smartphones. Instead, you should use other visual elements that won’t hurt your rankings but will make your website more appealing to the consumer.

The reason why this is so important is because when people search, they are searching for your products and services, not your company name. This means that you need to have a search engine optimized website with enough content and links in order to be found by the consumers because if they can’t find you then it doesn’t matter how nice your website looks. Balancing search friendly content with a visually appealing website will be very important to your company’s design.

You should test your website to make sure it is easy to use and navigate. Users want an accessible, user friendly website. So if you make sure your company’s website is designed towards that ideal, then you should see the conversion rate of your company’s website increase. If the conversion rate does not increase then you need to go back and do some more work to further improve your company’s website.
